Our Story

Established in the response to the challenges faced by dairy farmers after the dairy industry deregulation in 1998. The seed of Underberg Dairy was sown during the challenging years between 2007 and 2013 when many South African farms faced closure. In the face of adversity, a visionary collective of farmers in Underberg united to establish Berg Dairies, which later joined forces with Roman's Pizza to form Underberg Dairy. The fruition of their collaborative efforts materialised in 2016 with the formal founding of Underberg Dairy a testament to innovation and resilience, shaping our commitment to providing superior quality dairy products. 

 

Our story is one of perseverance, innovation, and relentless pursuit of quality. From the struggles faced by farmers to the construction of our factory, every step has been a building  block towards delivering nothing but the absolute best to our customers. Our passion for excellence was the driving force long before our factory even stood. We take pride in the fact that our products are not just dairy items, they are the result of labour of love, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering nothing but the absolute best.
